Ann Fawdon Ann Fawdon
Mother and Daughter
Died 25th and 30th Sept 1849
We know only a very limited amount about Ann Fawdon, aged 58 and her daughter, also Ann, who died five days apart in the cholera outbreak. We do know, however that both died quite early in the tragedy, on the 25th and 30th of September, respectively.
Ann Snr. was born in Linkhall, Ellingham and was baptised on 13/5/1790, to Elizabeth and Thomas Fawdon. She had a younger sister called Jane born in 1792. A brother Thomas died when young, in1793.
Ann never appeared to marry. A woman called Ann Fawdon of roughly the right age, gave birth to three children in Alnwick, Mary Ann was baptised in St Michael’s Church on 14th March 1819. An un-named baby was born and died in July 1824. A son Thomas was baptised on 28th July 1826.
All of these children were registered to Ann Fawdon, a single mother, from Clayport. Daughter Ann was never mentioned until she died on 30th September 1849. So we don’t know any more about this mother and daughter, or what happened to Thomas and Mary Ann
