WW1 Pilots Goggles

The average life expectancy of a fighter pilot in World War One was spectacularly short- around 2 weeks. Amongst the many problems they had to face was the amount of oil and other material being thrown up into their eyes, plus the driving wind in an open cockpit. One hopes that these goggles helped-although after 100 years they are now quite difficult to see through.
