Son of William and Jane Robertson of Clive Terrace Alnwick, a well-known local family member, clerk in Alnwick Lloyds branch prior to his promotion to manager of Bishop Auckland branch. A keen sportsman, interested in music and a member of the choir at Clayport Presbyterian church, where prayers were said for him
