Formerley 31804, South Staffordshire Regiment.

Background:
Born at Amble, Northumberland, the only son of William (a Coal Miner) & Margaret Humble.

Three sisters - Annie (married name Corbie); Jessie (married name Atkinson); & Jane (married name Smith).

The 1911 Census records Humble living at Marine Road, Amble with his mother - his sisters were married by then. His mother lived at Acklington in 1918.

Before the war Humble was a Coal Trimmer at Amble Staithes.

A War Gratuity of £22-5s-9d was bequeathed to Humble's mother & sisters.
