Enlisted at Alnwick, Northumberland.
Died at Alnwick Military Hospital, as a result of accidental wounds.
Background:
Born about 1898, at Blyth, Northumberland, the son of Adam Hindmarsh (in 1901, a Railway Signalman), by his wife, & Mary (née Ions), of High Buston Farm, Alnmouth, Northumberland. Resided at Lesbury, Northumberland.
One of two sons lost - see, also, Mark Hindmarsh (Regimental service #DM2/134695; Royal Army Service Corps, 1st Base Auxilliary Motor Transport Company; Died 5 March 1919).
Hindmarsh had three brothers - Alexander; Mark; John Henry; - & one sister, Mary Jane.
A War Gratuity of £7-11s-7d was paid to his father in 1919.

The possible link to Rennington All Saints' Church is uncertain but no other A. Hindmarsh, as appears on the steps to the Church, has been traced on both the CWGC & Ancestry.co.uk websites with a stronger link to the wider Rennington district.
