Service History:
Said to come from Chevington Drift ('Alnwick & County Gazette Almanack, 1918') but there is no trace of a Private Harry Donkin or similar on either the CWGC or Ancestry.co.uk websites with obvious links to the wider Amble area although there are a couple with Northumberland links - one Northumberland Fusilier from Blyth; & another in the RNVR from Ashington who, as a Miner, may be the closest possible link to the man mentioned in the 'Gazette' Almanack.
