Said to come from Chillingham, Northumberland ('Alnwick & County Gazette Almanack, 1918') but there is no trace of an Ernest M. Dodds or similar on either CWGC or Ancestry.co.uk websites with obvious links to Northumberland & / or who served with the Durham Light Infantry.
The only E. M. Dodds found is on the Canada, CEF Commonwealth War Graves Registers, 1914-1919 (available via Ancestry.co.uk).
