Service History:
Died at the County Hospital, Ayr, Scotland as a result of a motor accident.

Background:
Born on 3 September 1896, at Whalton, Morpeth, the son of Farquhar Deuchar of Shortridge Hall, Warkworth, Northumberland, by his late wife, Sarah Anne (née Marshall; d. 19 February 1912, age 49) who he married at London in 1894.

Brother to Farquhar Jnr., Stella Louise Farquhar, Jessie Elaine, & Iris Mary (who married Charles Webb). Grandson of Robert Deuchar who founded the family brewing interests.

Deuchar was a Commercial Clerk in the family brewing company.

Farquhar Deuchar Snr. donated a large area of parkland in Morpeth for the use of the public in his son's memory.

The Robert Deuchar brewing empire was sold by Farqhar Deuchar to Scottish & Newcastle Brewery in 1953. Many of the streets in the Sandyford area of Newcastle upon Tyne were built & named after the Deuchar family.
