Service History:
Although CWGC & Ancestry.co.uk searches reveal no obvious association with Northumberland, 42487 is the only Sergeant J. Anderson who served with the Northumberland Fusiliers.

His date of death is also close to the 16 June 1917 edition of the 'Alnwick & County Gazette' in which his picture appeared, below which was shown '... NF, Wooler'.

Enlisted at Sunderland, County Durham.

Died of wounds received.

Background:
Born at Felling, County Durham.

According to the 'Alnwick & County Gazette' there must have been a connection with Wooler, assuming 42487 is the right man!
