Born at Alnwick, Northumberland, on 9 May, 1889, the son of John & Rachel Connell.
Husband of Mary (nÃ©e Fannon) by whom he had a daughter, also called Mary. His wife appears to have later re-married, as there's a Mary Hall recorded on the UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929 (available via Ancestry.co.uk).
