Background:
Born about 1896, at Amble, Northumberland, the second son of Walter (b. about 1865, at Alnwick, Northumberland; an Estate Mason) & Margaret E. (b. about 1864, at Felton, Northumberland) Yeaman, of Longhirst, Morpeth, formerly of Alnwick Castle Gardens.

Yeaman had an older brother, Robert G. (b. about 1894; in 1911 an Apprentice Engineering Fitter), & a younger sister, Annie M. (b. about 1899, at Longhirst).

Pre-war occupation: Gardener (Domestic).
