Enlisted at Wooler, Northumberland.

On 14 October 1917, the Battalion was holding the line near Poelkapelle when it was subjected to heavy enemy shelling. 80 Officers & OR were killed or wounded.

Waugh's older brother, John, is commemorated on the Norham War Memorial.

Born at Waddington, Northumberland, the son of Thomas Henry & Elizabeth Piercy Waugh, of Howtel, Mindrum, near Wooler.
