Background:
Born in October 1894, at Low Hedgley, Eglingham, Northumberland, the son of Joseph & Isabella Watson, of New Barns Farm, Warkworth.

Like his father, Watson was a Farm Labourer.

He had three sisters - Margaret; Isabella; & Mary - & three brothers - Joseph; Nicholas; & Henry.
