The UK, WW1 Service Medal & Awards Rolls, 1914-1920 (available via Ancestry.co.uk) records Ternents date of disembarkation (in France) as 21 April 1915, hence he was awarded the 1914-15 Star in addition to the British War & Victory Medals.
Background:
Born about 1893 at Alnwick, Northumberland, the son of George Thomas Ternent (b. about 1872; a Dairyman) & his wife, Mary Dorothy (Ternent).
The 1911 Census records Ternent's occupation as Farm Labour(er).
He had two sisters & two younger brothers, & the family's address was Dairy Grounds, Alnwick.
