Died France & Flanders.  According to the UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929 (available via Ancestry.co.uk) 'Death presumed', which probably means he was first reported missing & his body was never found.

                                Son Margaret Taylor of Rock, Alnwick & the late William Taylor.
One of two sons lost:  The brothers were killed on the same day, a tragedy for their mother!  See, also, Private George Taylor (Regimental service #291005; Northumberland Fusiliers, 1/7th Battalion Territorial Force; Died 15 September 1916).
