Born about 1895, at Ord, near Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, the son of Thomas (b. about 1863; at Kyloe, Northumberland; Farmer) & Cecily Stothart (b. about 1863; at Ord), of Hetton Limeworks, Beal, Northumberland.
In 1911, Stothart had an older sister, Mary Isabella (b. about 1893; at Ord). His occupation was described as a Farmer's Son Working on Farm.
