Service History:
Soon after leaving Oundle Ramsay joined the Royal Naval Air Service. After training in England, he went out to France.

He was reported missing in July 1917. His aircraft was presumed to have been shot down over France.

Background:
Born on May 21, 1897, at Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, the second son of Mr. & Mrs. N. F. Ramsay, of The Grange, Alnmouth, Northumberland.

Later education at Oundle, Northamptonshire (School House) from September 1911 to December 1915.

Ramsay was Head of School & Captain of the 1st XV rugby team.
