Hand-carved net needle from silver birch, acquired in 1966 in Harrington Harbour, an English-speaking settlement on the Lower North Shore of the St Lawrence river in Quebec Province, Canada. Fishing used traditional Newfoundland cod traps. Harrington no longer existed because since the coastal road was built, the village moved to the mainland.
