Mrs Mary Wilson (b.1798). A niece of Jane Bowmaker, first Headmistress of the Duchesss School, Mary was her assistant for many years before succeeding her as headmistress in 1847. She married Edward Wilson in 1845 and retired from teaching in 1865.
