Training and Support for Volunteers

Bailiffgate works hard to ensure that you get the very best experience from being a volunteer at the museum, and that we gain as much as possible from your skills and knowledge.

A number of formal and informal training sessions, plus support from an existing volunteer will be available to you. We also aim to learn from the experiences and knowledge of “best in class” museums in our area. For example a training day at Beamish Musem raised many important new ideas:
