Service History:
On the outbreak of war, joined the Australian Imperial Force, going to Egypt with the 4th Battalion, in April 1915. Shortly afterwards, went to the Dardanelles, where he was killed in action.

Background:
Born on 17 March 1886, the fifth son of the late Churchill Flintoff, of Hill House, Bondgate Within, Alnwick, Northumberland (a Dentist, by profession) by his wife Susan Hephzibah Gladwin, daughter of the Reverend Francis P. Gladwin (West House, Haighington, Darlington, County Durham).
Educated at the Duke's School, Alnwick & Padcroft School, West Drayton, London.
Went to Australia in 1909 where he married at Sydney, on 13 June 1913, Ida (née Reid).
