Service History:
Enlisted at Alnwick, Northumberland on 5 September 1914.
Went to France on 20 April 1915. Wounded in June 1915, & again on 15 September 1916. Bowman had only just returned to his battalion on recovering from his wounds when he was reported 'Missing' on 14 November 1916.

Background:
Youngest son of Fenwick & Jane Bowman, of 21, Bridge Street, Morpeth, Northumberland.
Educated at St. James's School, Morpeth.
On completion on his school education, Bowman served an apprenticeship with Mr. J. Myers & Mr. W. E. Rutherford, Hairdressers, Morpeth.
A member of the Boys' Brigade, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant. Also, a member of St. James's Church Institute.
