Back cover of a 1930s tourism brochure for the North East produced by the LNER, the railway company which served the area. The artist is Freda Lingstrom, a very successful artist, graphic designer and illustrator who produced a great many posters in the 1920s and 30s. Later she became head of BBC Children’s Television and was the creator of Andy Pandy.
