Background:
Son of George & Mary Wintrip.
The UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929 (available via Ancestry.co.uk) records Wintrip's mother, Mary, as his sole legatee. On 5 March 1919 payments of £3-17s-10d were made to each of his mother, brothers Robert & George, & sisters Mrs. Mary A. Lee, Mrs. Elizabeth Hawkes, & Mrs. Jane Stephens - the payments to the latter two were a penny less!
Wintrip's mother received further payments for the same amount on 11 April & 17 June 1919, plus a smaller payment of £1-6s-10d on 10 June. A War Gratuity of £27-10s-0d was paid to her on 12 March 1920.
